How long your locks last are dependent on a number of things. The higher quality of the lock that you purchase, the more likely it will last longer than a cheaper inferior version. The first step is to ensure that the locks are fitted correctly from the start so ensure that there is no extra wear and tear on the lock and all is functioning correctly. Every now and then, give the locks a clean with a clean cloth. Don’t use an old duster though as any dirt and fibres may get caught in the lock.
Try not to slam or bang door, closing them gently will no extra pressure to the lock mechanism and it will lessen the chances of it becoming loose.
